Mid Wales Skills Partnership Created

04.03.2021 - A new partnership that will provide a focus for skills in Mid Wales, as well as helping drive economic growth by ensuring investment in the right skills, has been created.

A new partnership that will provide a focus for skills in Mid Wales, as well as helping drive economic growth by ensuring investment in the right skills, has been created.

The Growing Mid Wales Partnership has announced the creation of the Mid Wales Skills Partnership. The new partnership will work with business leaders and stakeholders across the region in order to drive change in the skills landscape.

Now a private-sector representative is being sought to lead the new partnership with the nomination process for a Chair now open.

Leaders of the Growing Mid Wales Partnership, Councillors Ellen ap Gwynn and Rosemarie Harris, said: "This is an exciting time for learning and skills in Mid Wales. This new partnership will play a vital role in ensuring that the learning and skills infrastructure meets the economic and social needs of Mid Wales.

"We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and inspirational person from the private sector to Chair this new partnership. They will play a key role in helping to drive the region's vision for learning and skills, representing the voice of the private sector in the regional to influence and support regional decision-making and to champion the region at a national level."
